PHP on Internet[^]

This graph shows PHP market share, on worldwide internet web sites. PHP is found on 33,24 % of web sites, stable from last month. PHP market share is stable.

PHP version distribution[^]

This graphic displays the market share of each PHP version. The blue graph represents the sum of all preceding versions. PHP 4.3.9 and beyond represent now 81% of all PHP installations.

PHP major version distribution[^]

This graphic represents the PHP major version distributions : 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6.

PHP 5 takes its largest bite at PHP 4 market share, jumping more than 1.6% to 18,55 %. PHP 4 is probably enjoying its last month above 80% of market share.

Besides PHP 4, all other major version are negligeable.

Retreating versions[^]

This graph present PHP version who lost web sites during May. For each version, we counted the number of web sites adopting a version, and abandoning it. Finally, we made the difference between the figures. This graph presents only versions who lost ground during the month. Figures are displayed as percentage of migration.

PHP 5.1.x are the big loosers this month.

Attention : migration stats are pretty difficult to explain, given the high number of combinaison (origin version and destination version). The above figures are indicators, and in no way exact representations.

PHP 4/5 middle version distribution[^]

This graphic represents PHP middle version distribution for PHP 4 and 5.

PHP 4.4 seems to be reaching a maximum, while PHP 4.3 keeps on declining steadily. PHP 5.2 is now firmly established as 3rd most popular version, and will now try to take on PHP 4.3.

Increasing versions[^]

This graph present PHP version who gained web sites during December. For each version, we counted the number of web sites adopting a version, and abandoning it. Finally, we made the difference between the figures. This graph presents only versions who lost ground during the month. Figures are displayed as percentage of migration.

Everyone chose a 5.2.x version, as all minor version gained users during April. It is probable that the wait for 5.2.2 made some webmaster choose for the safest version available, and thus all 5.2 took advantage. PHP 4.4.6 did also good gain.

Attention : migration stats are pretty difficult to explain, given the high number of combinaison (origin version and destination version). The above figures are indicators, and in no way exact representations.

PHP 4.3/4 minor version distribution[^]

This graphic represents the PHP 4.3 and 4.4 minor version distribution PHP 4.4.6 is not set to take on PHP 4.4.4, which stays far ahead all other versions. PHP 4.4.7 is not even showing up in the stats.

PHP 5 minore distribution[^]

This graphic represents the PHP 5.x minor version distribution. PHP 5.2.1 takes the pole position, in a two month climb from null to #1. The three last PHP 5 versions are now the top three versions.

PHP adoption by country[^]

This map represents PHP market share for each country. Green countries are the one using most PHP, red countries the least and yellow countries are in the world average (33,24 %). The table below show the exact figures for each country. Some countries may no show on the map, and will require the larger map (click on the graphic). Some countries may not be represented at all.
