Here are the PHP stats for November 2007. To learn about methodology, read la section phpversion. 28.7 millions servers hosted on 2 millions IP were surveyed during November, and 11.2 were used for stats : domaines without web sites, those unreachable, ISP, shared hosters or domain parkings were not considered.

This graph shows PHP market share, on worldwide internet web sites.
PHP is found on 33,29 % of web sites, stable from last month. PHP market share is stable.
PHP version distribution[^]
This graphic displays the market share of each PHP version. The blue graph represents
the sum of all preceding versions. PHP 5.0.0 and beyond represent now 27% of all PHP installations. PHP 4.4.4 is the median, though not for long anymore : it will probably hand the title to PHP 4.4.7 in the coming months.
Increasing versions[^]
This graph present PHP version who gained web sites during December. For each version, we counted the number of web sites adopting a version, and abandoning it. Finally, we made the difference between the figures. This graph presents only versions who lost ground during the month. Figures are displayed as percentage of migration.
PHP 4.4.7 outranks PHP 5.2.4 for the version gaining most users this month, though it must be the only PHP 4.4 version doing so. Otherwise, all gaining versions are 5.x, except for PHP 4.3.4, which seems to be an anomaly.
Attention : migration stats are pretty difficult to explain, given the high number of combinaison (origin version and destination version). The above figures are indicators,and in no way exact representations.

PHP 5.2.x versions are loosing ground, and PHP 5.2.4 is taking advantage of it. Otherwise, most loosing versions are PHP 4., except the vigourous PHP 4.4.7.

PHP major version distribution[^]
This graphic represents the PHP major version distributions : 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6.
PHP 5 displays signs of good health, and reach 26,1% of market share.
Besides PHP 4, all other major version are negligeable.
PHP 4/5 middle version distribution[^]
This graphic represents PHP middle version distribution for PHP 4 and 5.
PHP 4.4 growth is again slightly negative for the second month in a row, while PHP 5.2 is now set to overcome PHP 4.3 in the next months.
PHP 4.3/4 minor version distribution[^]
This graphic represents the PHP 4.3 and 4.4 minor version distribution
PHP 4.4.7 is the strong leader, along with fellows 4.4.4 and 4.3.10, though it is the only one with good health. A wave of PHP 5.x versions are raising rapidly.

PHP 5.2.4 is PHP 5 leader. It is good sign to see that the most popular PHP 5 version is almost the last one.
