PHP on Internet[^]

This graph shows PHP market share, on worldwide internet web sites. PHP is found on 34,02% of web sites, stable from last month. PHP market share is stable.

PHP version distribution[^]

This graphic displays the market share of each PHP version. The blue graph represents the sum of all preceding versions. PHP 4.4 and beyond represent now 57% of all PHP installations. When a PHP application supports PHP 4.3.9 and better, they are functionnal on more than 79% of all PHP installations.

PHP major version distribution[^]

This graphic represents the PHP major version distributions : 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6. PHP 5 takes another percent to 14,08 % barrier and PHP 4 keeps on declining. Besides PHP 4, all other major version are negligeable.

Retreating versions[^]

This graph present PHP version who lost web sites during December. For each version, we counted the number of web sites adopting a version, and abandoning it. Finally, we made the difference between the figures. This graph presents only versions who lost ground during the month. Figures are displayed as percentage of migration.

PHP 4.4.2 lost the most web sites. Note that PHP 5.0 and 5.1 also lost ground, replaced by 5.2.

Attention : migration stats are pretty difficult to explain, given the high number of combinaison (origin version and destination version). The above figures are indicators, and in no way exact representations.

PHP 4/5 middle version distribution[^]

This graphic represents PHP middle version distribution for PHP 4 and 5. PHP 4.4 keeps its 5 point lead over PHP 4.3. PHP 5.1 and 5.0 stopped their progression, only to see PHP 5.2 climb the ladder, though rather slowly.

Increasing versions[^]

This graph present PHP version who gained web sites during December. For each version, we counted the number of web sites adopting a version, and abandoning it. Finally, we made the difference between the figures. This graph presents only versions who lost ground during the month. Figures are displayed as percentage of migration.

PHP 4.4.4 collected the most new versions, clearly ahead of PHP 5.2. PHP 4.4 is still the favorite version of webmasters. May be during this year, we'll see a change in the trend.

Attention : migration stats are pretty difficult to explain, given the high number of combinaison (origin version and destination version). The above figures are indicators, and in no way exact representations.

PHP 4.3/4 minor version distribution[^]

This graphic represents the PHP 4.3 and 4.4 minor version distribution PHP 4.4.4 consolidates its rank.

PHP 5 minore distribution[^]

This graphic represents the PHP 5.0 and 5.1 minor version distribution PHP 5.1.6 still dominates, but PHP 5.2.0 is now ranking 2nd, ready to take the first plce. Other versions are consolidating their version, thanks to linux distributions adopting them finally.

PHP adoption by country[^]

This map represents PHP market share for each country. Green countries are the one using most PHP, red countries the least and yellow countries are in the world average (33,83 %). The table below show the exact figures for each country. Some countries may no show on the map, and will require the larger map (click on the graphic). Some countries may not be represented at all.
