Here are the evolution graphics for PHP, in October 2006. To learn about the methodology, see la section phpversion. 15 millions servers were surveyed during October 2006, and 9,1 were used for the stats : domaines without web sites, those unreachable, ISP or domain parkings were not considered.

PHP on internet[^]

This graphic shows the evolution of PHP global adoption on Internet. It is currently present on 34,17% web sites.The hidden architectures are taking most of PHP and APS's reduction.

Those graphics shows the evolution of each PHP version market share, since June 2005. PHP 4 versions, with the largest market share, are placed in a separate graphic.

PHP 5 is accelerating since the beginning of 2005. PHP 4 has been declining since last year, but represents less than 88% of the PHP market share.

Evolution of middle PHP versions[^]

This graphic shows the evolution of each middle version for PHP 4, 5 and 6.

PHP 4.4 and 5.1 are growing, taking users from PHP 4.3. PHP 4.4 managed to outrank 4.3 and is now in pole position.
